Crown Court Cases:
Almost all cases sent to the Crown Court start with a first hearing at the magistrates’ court. Like the magistrate’s’ court, the plea to be entered is the single most influential factor in the time taken for a case to be concluded. A guilty plea can, and often is, concluded at the first hearing in the Crown Court or within four weeks thereof, whereas trials and more involved matters can take up three months and sometimes much longer. As matters progress, we should be in a better position to advise you of likely timeframes.
